A Basic Template as a method we use to ensure you get a website that is suitable for your needs, without it costing you the earth. It works by re-using code we have already written. Many web design companies will continue to use templates but will recharge their clients as if they had written all the code from scratch.

Many websites may require some level of tailoring. budgieweb.co.uk allows you to see what you'll need. You select a basic template then select additional features to "add on".

All sites need four basic components to exist. These are described below and form the minimum components of our most basic package:

• Content - This is the text and images you supply,
• The site presentation - The formatting of the text and images you supply.
• The server location - Your site must be hosted so your customers can access it. You will incur a monthly or annual fee for this.
• The Domain Name - The registered name given to your site, which is unique, linked to your hosted site and enables your customer to access your site by typing your Domain Name (for example, www.yourdomainname.co.uk, into the address bar of any Browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Sometimes a template is too restrictive and some level of tailoring is required.

'Tailoring' enables you to ask for a change to the part or all of a templates design. budgieweb.co.uk can also compile sites from scratch, to the client's requirements, without the use of any templates.

Where 'Tailoring' is required, we will discuss this seperately with you and give you a price accordingly.

Our standard rate for 'Tailoring' is £30.00 per hour. This is negotiable based on volume.

The term 'Hosting' describes how your website is made available to the world.

Within 'Hosting' your site will reside on a server that can be accessed by anyone searching for your site. A user will access your site through entering your site address (e.g. www.yourbusinessname.co.uk) into the address bar of their Browser or into a Search Engine.

'Hosting' is part of the basic package. The cost of hosting may increase where significant tailoring is undertaken.

Links and content can become corrupt over a period of time. However on small sites this is unlikely.

Sites can also be hacked and content corrupted. This is a more serious issue. Another maintenance issue is site downtime and loss of data.

Because the budgieweb.co.uk product is component based, maintenance is not included as a feature of the basic site. You decide if you want to purchase maintenance. That way you decide what you want and pay for that level of service accordingly.

By not purchasing a maintenance package, you thereby choose to take responsibility for identifying maintenance issues on your site.

If you do spot an issue on your site and have not purchased a maintenance package, you can still request a site re-load at any time. You will only incur the charge for the re-load.
